Every Day We Fight combat decisions
Every Day We Fight: improve a shot whose reticle keeps spreading
The reference says shots favor the reticle's center but can land anywhere inside it. Recoil and bloom can reduce accuracy during repeated fire, but the 1.0 Shredder is an explicit exception: its accuracy improves while the trigger is held. Identify the gun, re-aim as its reticle changes, and choose a shot where the target occupies enough of the usable aim area.
Putting the reticle over a target is not a guarantee that the next bullet lands at its exact center. Also separate a miss from a hit on armor, a shield or a protected objective.

Diagnose one shot before repeating a burst
- Check that the weapon has a clear line to the intended target region.
- Observe the reticle before firing and after each shot. Do not keep assuming the original aim area is unchanged through a full-auto burst.
- Re-aim when recoil or a moving target changes the alignment. Compare the current weapon's firing behavior: the Shredder's release-described sustained-fire accuracy means short bursts are not a universal rule.
- Inspect parts that alter accuracy, recoil or reticle bloom. Include their shooting, reload or aiming cost tradeoffs.
- After the shot, use the actual impact and damage preview/state to distinguish a miss from armor or shield damage.
Choose the correct failure branch
| What happened | Check next |
|---|---|
| The reticle spread during repeated fire | Re-aim and compare recoil/bloom modifiers. |
| The enemy moved during the shot sequence | Track the target's current position rather than its previous location. |
| A hit landed but HP stayed unchanged | Check armor, shields or an objective's protected state. |
| The gun struck foreground cover | Fix the physical firing line. |
| A new attachment made the action unaffordable | Compare the resulting AP costs before changing the aim again. |
Precision is a tradeoff, not a guaranteed percentage
The published reference supplies the reticle and recoil rules, not a universal accuracy percentage or a single best attachment. Read the effects of the actual parts you own.
The Early Access Epic guide also warns that reacting enemies can move during fire. That supports tracking the target, but it is not proof of every current enemy's timing or a guaranteed way to land all shots.
If it does not work
- No HP damage despite a visible hit: use the correct armor, shield or console guide.
- Continued fire keeps missing: recheck the expanding reticle and target movement before spending the remaining magazine.
- A mod improves one stat but worsens the turn: compare all action costs.
- This is an aiming/defense check, not an unverified DX11 or performance diagnosis.
How to tell it worked
The intended target region is hit under the chosen firing setup, and the impact/result is distinguished from a defense absorbing the shot.
