Every Day We Fight: make the Stasis Bomb defuse counter progress

Windows PC · Codex capture build unknown · Sources checked 2026-11-02

The short answer

A Thorn must be inside the bomb's defuse range when the enemy turn ends. Arriving briefly and leaving before that point does not meet the condition described by the mission reference.

If the bomb's timer is running but defusing does not advance, check the Thorn's position at the turn boundary.

Hold the defuse position through the enemy turn

  1. Inspect the bomb and its displayed counters before initiating the encounter.
  2. Prepare for reinforcements: tampering with the device calls Rifters to defend it.
  3. Move one Thorn inside the displayed defuse area.
  4. Keep that Thorn there through the end of the enemy turn, with the other Thorns handling threats as needed.
  5. Check that the defuse count decreases. Continue until defusing finishes before the detonation counter reaches zero.

Read both counters

The detonation timer and the defuse count represent different outcomes. The source does not provide one fixed timer value for every difficulty or encounter, so follow the counters in your own mission.

If it does not work

  • Counter unchanged: recheck the actual range and whether your Thorn was still inside it when the enemy turn ended.
  • A detonation count of zero is the failure condition; merely killing nearby enemies is not a substitute for the stated positional requirement.
  • A recurring stuck objective after those conditions are met needs a build-specific report; do not assume a historical fixed bug diagnoses it.

How to tell it worked

The defuse counter decreases after an enemy turn with a Thorn in range, and the bomb disarms before detonation.
