Every Day We Fight: build Leo around useful AP donations
Unlock Donate first. Choose Enabling Healer followed by Reap The Benefits for sustain and Leo's AP recovery, or Damage Control followed by Giving Nature when a standing ally needs more offensive output. Build Overwatch separately through Health Insurance and Eagle Eyed if that is Leo's second role.
Use this template when another Thorn has the right shot or position but needs more actions. Leo's value comes from choosing where the squad's AP should go, while keeping enough ammunition and cover for his own job.

Pick the problem Donate should solve
| Squad need | Route to compare | Check before spending |
|---|---|---|
| A wounded standing ally also needs actions | Donate → Enabling Healer → Reap The Benefits | Reap The Benefits competes with Two For One Special. |
| An ally already has a good attack position | Donate → Damage Control → Giving Nature | Giving Nature competes with Painfully Altruistic. |
| Leo needs to watch a useful lane | Health Insurance → Eagle Eyed | Stay On Target adds shots; Keen Perception changes the cone. They are different alternatives. |
Donate toward a concrete next action
- Select the ally and action you want the donation to enable before spending Leo's turn budget.
- Check the current Donate card and Leo's AP. The base reference transfers 10 AP; modifiers can change the practical cost and recipient benefit.
- Use the donation, then check the recipient's AP and any purchased healing or damage effect.
- Take the planned action with that ally while its conditions remain useful.
- If placing Leo on Overwatch afterwards, check his ammunition, lane and remaining Reflex first.
Choose a weapon for the work Leo still has to do
DBLTAP's July 2025 template recommends a Hailstorm as a practical support weapon. Treat that as an attributed suggestion, not a proven minimum-AP weapon across the 1.0 arsenal. Compare the gun and parts you actually own: a support turn is worse if Leo spends all remaining AP reloading before he can cover anyone.
The older article loosely groups longer Overwatch with its suggested route. The separate skill cards distinguish extra reaction shots from a larger cone, so choose by the lane you need rather than treating all Overwatch upgrades as the same effect.
Read Donate and reaction behavior in the release context
The 1.0 notes fix a case where a second Donate in one turn did not award AP, and adjust Covering Fire sensitivity. That corroborates the named abilities in the release, not a guarantee of any July2025 cost or unlimited donation loop. Use the installed skill and cooldown feedback for the actual turn.
If it does not work
- A downed ally does not receive the expected support benefit: revive them through the dedicated item route first.
- Both advanced choices will not unlock together: check the mutual exclusion rather than farming SP for an impossible pair.
- The Overwatch area is unchanged: extra shots and cone size are separate skills.
- Leo cannot shoot after donating: include his reload and firing costs in the turn plan.
How to tell it worked
The selected standing ally receives the intended AP and purchased support effect, then completes the action the donation was meant to enable.
